| We recommend that all parties involved in a divorce be represented by an attorney. However, we recognize that not everyone can afford to do so. If you do not wish to retain an attorney to represent you in your divorce, our office will prepare the proper forms to start the divorce for you. The fee for this Documentation Preparation Service is $299.00 . We do not offer advice for this service, just guidance and document preparation. However, you need to be aware that filing the initial documents is not all that must be done to obtain a divorce. There still has to be a hearing and the judge needs to hear certain facts in order to grant the divorce. Then, an Interlocutory Decree and a Final Decree must be filed.. We can assist you there, as well, by providing a checklist for the hearing and preparing the Decrees for you. There is an additional charge for those services. Also, having prepared the initial documents, we will be in the best position to step in and represent you if the matter becomes too complicated for your to handle by yourself or you decide you need representation after all.
